The directory is informational
TMJDirectory lists providers who treat (or claim to treat) TMJ/TMD-related symptoms. A listing is not an endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee of any provider's qualifications, treatment philosophy, or outcomes. We do not employ, contract with, or supervise providers. Verify credentials, licensing, and references independently before pursuing care.
The quiz is educational
The "Where should I start?" quiz organizes self-reported symptoms into patterns and points at the kinds of providers people often explore. It does not diagnose you. It does not replace evaluation by a licensed clinician. Red-flag symptoms warrant prompt professional evaluation regardless of what the quiz says.
Provider listings and claims
- How listings appear: Some listings are sourced from public information; others are added directly by providers. A listing being on the site does not mean the provider has agreed to be listed.
- Claiming: A provider can sign in with the email on their listing (or submit evidence for review) and edit their own listing. Edits are subject to a review process; we may reject or remove content that is misleading, fraudulent, or violates these terms.
- Take-down: If a listing is yours and you do not want it on the site, request removal via the contact form. We will remove the listing within 7 business days. Identity verification may be required.
- Disputed claims: If another provider has claimed your listing, dispute it via the contact form with evidence (license number, NPI, or practice email). We will review and resolve.
- Provider conduct: Providers must not misrepresent credentials, hide affiliations or sanctions, run paid promotions in fields not designed for them, or use the directory to harass other providers or patients.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, mirror, or bulk-extract directory content beyond ordinary personal use.
- Submit false, defamatory, or misleading information.
- Use the contact form, quiz, or favorites for spam or harassment.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or row-level security.
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source data from the site or its database.
Intellectual property
The site design, copy, and software are © TMJDirectory. The provider data, where collected from public sources, remains attributable to its sources; we make no proprietary claim to underlying facts. Submitted content (provider listings, contact-form messages, quiz responses) remains yours; by submitting it you grant us a non-exclusive license to display and process it as needed to operate the site.
Linked third-party providers and content
External links — to provider websites, training organizations, schedule links, or resources — are provided for convenience. We do not control or endorse the content of external sites.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TMJDirectory and its operators are not liable for: (a) treatment decisions made based on directory content or quiz output; (b) errors or omissions in provider listings; (c) interruptions, data loss, or downtime; or (d) any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. The site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
Termination
We may suspend or remove accounts or listings that violate these terms or the spirit of the directory.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, announced to newsletter subscribers.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA, without regard to conflicts-of-law principles. Disputes will be brought in Missouri courts.
